The second of our Plastic webinar series to discuss Plastic film blocking and why Imerys minerals are your ideal antiblocking solution for PE films. Plastic film blocking is a common occurrence during film production, converting and end use. It results in the adhesion of adjacent plastic film layers to each other rendering separation difficult. Imerys minerals provide an optimum balance of haze, antiblocking and mechanical properties.

MINERALS FOR GLASS FIBER EXTENSION

The purpose of this webinar is to investigate how partial replacement of Glass Fiber (GF) with mineral additives could help alleviate some of difficulties associated with GF reinforced PA6. Imerys minerals make excellent glass fiber extenders in polyamides. Participants in this webinar will learn how Imerys minerals such as wollastonite, calcined kaolin, and mica, can be used in partial replacement of chopped glass fiber in polyamide compounds to reduce warpage and improve surface appearance, rheology and isotropy of mechanical properties.
MINERALS TO ENHANCE FLAME RETARDANT

Join us for this exclusive webinar series where you can discover the fundamental properties of minerals and the role they play in the solution for sound and vibration dampening in applications such as power tools, under-the-hood automotive parts, and water-based structural coatings. Many types of minerals can be used to achieve the maximum amount of heat dissipation but mica remains the most efficient of all. In tests, selected grades of mica at different loadings generated sound damping properties comparable to, or exceeding, glass fiber.
