Inks Imerys minerals for enhanced performance in inks
Imerys offers a unique portfolio of high performance kaolins, ground calcium carbonates (GCC), precipitated calcium carbonates (PCC), and talcs to improve the properties of flexographic, offset and rotogravure inks.
Flexographic inks
Used in flexographic printing inks, Imerys calcium carbonates, kaolins and talcs:

Increase dry hiding on porous substrates
- Maintain whiteness and opacity
- Are effective TiO2 extenders, reducing formulation costs
- Improve color performance
- Control gloss / matt
- Improve ink transfer giving a clean print

Offset inks
In offset printing inks, high performance, kaolins and treated calcium carbonates:
- Improve lithotronic behavior
- Provide good water uptake without washout or bleeding into the fount solution
- Maintain color strength
- Provide good pigment efficiency and ink mileage
- Reduce ink penetration into paper fibers
- Improve hold-out and reduce strike-through
- Can be used at high addition levels, reducing costs

Rotogravure
Used in rotogravure printing inks, Imerys calcium carbonates, kaolins and talcs:
