Breathability Ground calcium carbonates for enhanced breathability in hygiene and roofing films
Breathable films are cost-effective, polymer based films which provide moisture control in a wide range of applications including diapers, feminine hygiene and incontinence protection products where breathability is an essential parameter of user comfort. Breathable films are also widely used as roofing membranes.
Breathable films are made from cast or blown polymer films which are then stretched.
Used as functional additives, natural ground calcium carbonates (GCC) contribute to the uniform cavitation or pore creation of these films, promoting the breathability of the membrane while enhancing the strength of the film.

FilmLink® is an treated ground calcium carbonate which acts as a dispersing and thixotropic agent in breathable polyolefins, improving pore creation as well as the mechanical, rheological, optical and dispersion properties of the polymer.

- FilmLink® 400: designed for high moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) films
- FilmLink® 520: designed for excellent dispersion in the polymer
