Mistrocell® For stronger, lighter foamed polymers
- Fine and regular cell size
- Significant increase in cell density
- Improved stiffness at lower densities
- Optimized lightweight materials
Mistrocell® talc is an ideal nucleating agent for foam composites used to produce lightweight materials with improved stiffness for the automotive and packaging industries.
Mistrocell® has a unique micro-lamellar morphology which is shown to generate larger number of cell nuclei resulting in finer cell structure and higher cell density.

Mistrocell®:
- Increases cell density significantly
- Promotes fine and regular cell size
- Improves stiffness at lower density

Mistrocell® in polypropylene
Using micro-lamellar Mistrocell® as a nucleating agent in polypropylene (PP) results in foams with cell densities twice as high as those obtained with lamellar talc.
Cell density is twice as high with Mistrocell® than with lamellar talc

The highest cell nucleation rate is obtained with 5 wt% of Mistrocell®.
At this loading, using the injection-molding MuCell® foaming process, a weight reduction of 10% can be achieved with the same specific elastic storage modulus as an unfilled solid PP.
Mistrocell® in polystyrene
In polystyrene, a 5% Mistrocell® loading can be used to achieve microcellular foams:
