PVC Imerys talcs improve the mechanical properties and processing in PVC applications
Imerys talcs improve the mechanical properties of PVC enabling its use in a wider range of applications.
PVC is used for a wide range of end products such as flooring and extrusions, but its use is sometimes limited in applications requiring superior mechanical properties and heat resistance.
Due to their inherent lamellarity, Imerys talcs improve:
- Coefficient of linear thermal expansion (CLTE)
- Dimensional stability
- Operating temperature
In tests, very fine talc outperforms other fillers such as chalk and chalk / talc blends.
It can also be used in foamed PVC to increase the cell nucleation and improve the foamed material stiffness.
- 40µm top-cut coarse grades for PVC reinforcement
- Compacted Luzenac 1445 for better processing and handling
We offer a full range of bespoke formulation and technical and process support services to help you match the right mineral grade to your application requirement.
