Socal® For enhanced impact performance in PVC
The Socal® range of ultra-fine precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) grades has been specifically designed to improve fusion, gloss, impact strength and designing and shaping properties in PVC.
Socal® can be used as a nucleating agent, multifunctional filler, processing aid and impact modifier in PVC.
- Improved luminosity, a smooth finish, and high gloss
Socal® provides improved luminosity, a smooth finish and high gloss by improving melt elasticity and reinforcement.
- Impact resistance at low temperatures
Socal® improves impact resistance in rigid PVC, particularly at low temperatures, by reducing the temperature of transition between the tough and brittle states. It can be used to replace or supplement organic impact modifiers.
- Faster fusion for higher extrusion throughput
Socal® speeds up fusion enabling compounders to achieve high extrusion rates while minimizing fouling of extruder screws and associated plate out. It is a highly effective flow aid limiting the compaction of problem powders and also provides control of viscosity without any adverse effect on adhesion.
Socal® range is suitable for use in:
- Construction profiles
- Automotive parts
- Electrical parts
- Household goods
- Consumer goods
- Plastisol flooring
It can also function as a blocking agent for thin film production and nucleating agent in insulation foams.
